The Kitzbühel Alps are fairly regarded as the cradle of the sport of skiing. Naturally reliable snow conditions, a wealth of ski areas and the striking mountain backdrop have lost none of their appeal even to this day, making the Kitzbühel Alps one of the very best ski areas the Alps has to offer.
Gut Hanneshof, in the midst of several ski areas, is the ideal base for your skiing vacation. The new “Lärchenhof” lift is within easy walking distance and perfectly suited for beginners and families in particular.
The famous ski areas of St. Johann in Tirol, Waidring Steinplatte, Fieberbunn and Kirchdorf in Tirol are within convenient reach by ski shuttle. The major ski regions of Kitzbühel and the Skiwelt are also just a few kilometers away.
Who doesn’t dream of first enjoying a lavish breakfast, then stepping onto the terrace and setting straight out onto the cross-country ski trails? At Gut Hanneshof, you can do just that since the magnificent Achenloipe XC trail begins right outside our front door. From here, you have access to over 200 km of groomed trails, tracked for both classic and “skating” ski techniques.
Gut Hanneshof is home to a wide range of horseback-riding facilities, where equestrian fans will find all kinds of opportunities for a vacation in the saddle. Modern riding stables, where your own horse is also welcome, naturally, provide optimal accommodations for all of our animals. We have a stable of 16 Haflingers and Warmbloods available for our guests to make use of.
The gigantic indoor riding arena is available for your riding lessons, where the wind and weather are simply never even a factor. Spacious outdoor areas with paddocks provide for optimal training conditions. You can also enjoy romantic moments in abundance if you take a horse-drawn carriage or sleigh ride.
The Kitzbüheler Alpen and the towns of St. Johann in Tirol, Oberndorf, Kirchdorf and Erpfendorf provide a wide variety of events and meet-ups throughout the winter months. This alpine region is one of the regions in Tirol which has the most events. The variety-packed event programme is characterised by tradition, and also by internationality. Fantastic winter events such as the Int. Tiroler Koasalauf in St. Johann in Tirol take place here. All the parties, sports events and festivalscan be found in the region's event calendar.
